Released a staggering half century ago, Tom Waits' assured debut album Closing Time is getting the reissue it deserves, this time on clear double vinyl with half-speed mastering at good old Abbey Road Studios. Featuring songs that would become classics in his catalogue, such as Ol' 55, I Hope That I Don't Fall In Love With You, and the downbeat ballad Lonely, the album was a brilliant statement of intent that hinted at the greatness to come.
