The past few years have been a remarkable time in Dunedin for music. People talk about the 1980s being Dunedins golden decade for music, but theres precious metal being formed here right now - as indeed there was in the 1990s and the 2000s. With five of the 13 bands on the compilation were already associated with Fishrider Records Opposite Sex, The Shifting Sands, The Prophet Hens, Males and Trick Mammoth, combined together with the others, they represent an interconnected part of the current Dunedin music scene playing shows together and often sharing members with each other.
