Antics (20th Anniversary Edition)

Vinyl LP (Red)

Following the phenomenon that was Interpol's Turn Out The Bright Lights, those dapper and brooding gents set their sights on creating a worthy follow-up. Antics arrived twenty years ago, and proved to be far beyond simply worthy, with tunes like Slow Hands, Evil, C'Mere, and Narc becoming some of the band's mightiest. Now, a red vinyl 20th anniversary edition has been announced on Matador - we can't wait. - Flying Out

Interpol celebrate the 20th anniversary of their lauded sophomore album Antics with a red vinyl edition as part of Matador’s on-going Revisionist History catalogue series.

After 2 years of seemingly endless tours, the quartet returned in early 2004 to Peter Katis’s Tarquin Studios in Bridgeport, CT to record their 2nd album. They had already debuted a handful of songs earmarked for Antics on the road: "Length of Love", "Narc", "C’mere". Meanwhile, having revisited – and reinvented – the material from ‘Bright Lights’ night after night, they discovered new strengths. There was more room for experimentation in these songs, for toying with arrangements and intricacies of individual parts, than on their debut. With ‘Antics,’ Interpol delivered a disc even more engaging than its celebrated predecessor, without sacrificing any of the depth that had made them such an important band for so many. Since its release in 2004, Antics has gone on to become one of Interpol’s most celebrated works featuring some of the band’s most iconic songs including “Slow Hands” and “Evil.”
