Westbound Super Breaks

Super Breaks is proud to pay homage to some of Westbound’s greatest sampled tracks.  Westbound – the Detroit institution that discovered George Clinton’s Funkadelic and Ohio Players – is probably the most sampled label ever. The list of artists who have sampled these tracks reads like a Who’s Who of the hip hop and dance worlds – A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Dr. Dre, Kanye West,Snoop Dogg, Fatboy Slim, and many more. Listening to this compilation, what really strikes you is the variety of tracks that have been sampled. Perhaps most aptly of all was when DJs picked up on the Fantastic Four’s Disco Pool Blues and sampled it on house records – the song is all about club jocks searching for the perfect sound.
