‘piano1’ is a record for slowing down, healing, seeking out calm wherever you can find it, and embracing it. Research has shown that music, especially with a slower tempo and minimal harmonious melodies, can help lower cortisol levels (the body’s primary stress hormone), reduce heart rate and blood pressure, release endorphins, and help promote a state of calm and relaxation, creating a more balanced and centered state of mind. With ‘piano1,’ the hope was to create something to accommodate many levels of listening attention (active, passive, anywhere in between), while opening space to think.
