It's a happy 20th birthday to the 23rd studio album from The Fall! Just announced for reissue, The Real New Fall was supposedly finished and even released to the press under the name Country On The Click when Mark E. Smith had a moment and decided it didn't sound right, pulling the plug in favour of a new mix. Saying at the time "you trust people—them who shall remain nameless—to go away and mix it and it comes back sounding like Dr. Who meets Posh Spice. You have to go back in and strip it down to what it basically was...", the results speak for themselves, with The Guardian saying at the time that Smith was "on magnificently mad form". 20th anniversary edition. Originally recorded at Lisa Stansfield’s Gracieland Studios in between December 2002 and January 2003 with producer Grant Showbiz.

The subtitle is explained by the fact that the tracks were originally scheduled for release in April 2003 under the title Country on the Click. Promotional copies were sent out and three of the new songs were previewed in the band’s 23rd Peel Session, but Mark. E Smith was unhappy with the mix and decided it needed further work. The Real New Fall Album (Formally Country on the Click) was originally released in 2003 on the Action label and contains the Fall classic Sparta FC and was produced by Grant Showbiz.

5CD - Contains the original album as well as Interim, a disc of B-sides and a live Show from the time.
