1965 marks the starting point of one of the most successful rock bands of our time. Hailing from Hannover, Germany, the Scorpions embarked on a journey that would lead them around the globe and would establish them as one of the greatest rock bands of all time. With the November 2015 release of the 50th Anniversary Deluxe Editions, the Scorpions celebrate their impressive achievements and open their vaults to unleash hitherto unreleased songs, alternative versions of big hits, rough mixes and rare live concert footage. The remastered LP formats are released on 180-gram vinyl in a sleeve replicating the first pressing.
Scorpions kicked off the 1980's in a big way with the innovative masterpiece, Animal Magnetism, which helped create an enduring subgenre of heavy metal along the way. A good example is the title track - sluggish, hypnotic, yet subliminally aggressive and featuring a powerful groove - it has all the ingredients of what was later to become known as doom and groove metal. Animal Magnetism boasts electrifying intensity, barely restrained aggression and brilliant guitar riffs as well as a distinct creative desire. The release also bears the significant influence of Matthias Jabs whose inspired and technically excellent guitar work gives the songs their own seasoning. Animal Magnetism was yet another milestone for the Scorpions as it was their first to go Platinum in the US thanks to mega hits like the "Zoo" and it firmly established the band as among the greatest rock bands of their era!
