Opening with Billy Strayhorn’s Lush Life, Vaughan weaves her way through the set, which showcases her at her best. Rodgers and Hart’s My Romance is a notable performance, and the raw emotion in I’m Afraid the Masquerade Is Over is palpable.
Verve’s Acoustic Sounds Series features transfers from analog tapes and remastered 180-gram vinyl in deluxe gatefold packaging.
