From the first few bars of opening track The Saddest Sound, it's clear that award-winning Kiwi songwriter Rikki Morris has lost none of his ear for melody in the four-plus decades he has been in the game. About Time, Morris' first solo album since Everest in 1996, features ten excellent new songs gathered from the countless unreleased works he says he's accrued. Many tunes here were written alongside his sadly missed brother and long-time collaborator Ian Morris, and others co-written with Dianne Swann and Oni Kidman, with a host of guest musicians contributing to the magic. About Time is a very welcome return by one of Aotearoa's favourite sons, give it a spin. - Flying Out
The long awaited second solo album from singer-songwriter Rikki Morris, 'About Time' is Rikki's first album release in 28 years. A collection of songs spanning some 40 years, 'About Time' is the album Rikki always wanted to make.
Rikki says, “Every New Year I would make the same promise… “THIS is the year I start recording a new album”. I had hundreds of songs sitting around! It can’t be THAT difficult? And therein lay the problem. Pre-production would take ten times longer than recording the album itself. The process appeared daunting.
