This first ever retrospective of Japanese guitar pioneer Takeshi Terauchi charts his career from the 1960s surf boom, via groovy instrumentals, through to 70s fuzz freak-outs and funk rock. The set was collated by Honest Jon's records' resident Japan-ist, Howard Williams, the man behind the Killing Melody Japanese gangster soundtrack compilation and the Japonica blog and club night.
A must-have item for collectors of guitar 'n beats from around the world or anyone with a curiosity for vintage oriental popular music, the collection features a wealth of traditional Japanese folk melodies and 60s J-Pop given an electric guitar battering.
