The second album from local icon Ladi6 first landed way back in 2010, making waves whose ripples are still being felt today. It's easy to see why the record cleaned up at the time, scoring awards at the New Zealand Music Awards, the Pacific Music Awards, and winning the Taite Music Prize in 2011; The Liberation Of... is a really special album. Recorded over two months between Berlin and Munich as a collab between producer Parks and DJ Sepalot of German hip-hop act Blumentopf, the record boasts the huge single Like Water, and features the likes of Myele Manzanza, Julien Dyne, Chip Matthews, Fat Freddy's Drop's Toby Laing, and German singer Esther Adams. - Flying Out
