Streetcore (Reissue) (Vinyl LP)

Vinyl LP
We'll never not be missing Joe Strummer, but the third Mescaleros album Streetcore was a special moment, arriving a year following his death in 2002. Now celebrating twenty years in the world, the record has been remastered and lovingly re-presented to ensure music fans can keep the Strummer dream alive. With several of the tracks featuring vocals laid down as demos, there's an urgency and rawness to be heard here; this is Joe Strummer as real as he's ever sounded. From the impassioned Bob Marley number Redemption Song, a nod to a genre and country that had meant a lot throughout Strummer's career, to the rousing and impossibly catchy Coma Girl, Streetcore sounds better than ever, and we're grateful to have it available again. - Flying Out

Dark Horse Records celebrates the 20th Anniversary of Joe Strummer of The Clash’s 2003 album Streetcore. The audio has been remastered by Paul Hicks (The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, George Harrison) and art has been reproduced from the original release. Included with the vinyl is an exclusive print of Strummer’s handwritten lyrics to Coma Girl.

Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros’ third studio album, featuring the single “Coma Girl,” was released posthumously following Joe’s death in 2002. Due to Strummer’s passing many of the tracks feature first and only vocal takes. The fan-favorite cover of Bob Marley’s Redemption Song and the track Long Shadow were produced by Rick Rubin.
