Father, Son, Holy Ghost (Reissue) [F|O Exclusive Milky Clear / Black Ice Vinyl 2LP)

Vinyl 2LP (F|O Exclusive Milky Clear / Black Ice)

San Francisco duo Girls were the name on every indie kid's lips in the 2010s, with the pairing of songwriter Christopher Owens and producer / musician Chet "JR" White forging some kind of magic that had the likes of Pitchfork spellbound. Their meteoric rise left a giant crater in indie rock when they came crashing down and broke up in 2012, but thankfully Girls left behind two incredible albums, and an essential EP.  Now, all these years later, Virgin have announced the vinyl reissue of debut album Album (2009), its follow-up Father, Son, Holy Ghost (2011), and the brilliant Broken Dreams Club EP. - Flying Out

The long-awaited second full-length from San Francisco band Girls is spontaneous and stripped-down in a gorgeous, largely minor-key record. Father, Son, Holy Ghost is enlivened by flashes of innocent pop and given depth by its wealth of influences and will to face sadness. Peaking at Billboard #37 after its release in 2011 and claiming #82 on Pitchfork’s “200 Best Albums of the 2010s,” Father, Son, Holy Ghost both comes alive and cements its legacy with the timbre of Christopher Owen’s voice.
