The Irish band whose wild and wide influences have been cited as Bad Brains, Neu!, and The Chemical Brothers, Gilla Band have announced a reissue of their cult favourite EP The Early Years. While the purpose of its original release was to reissue out-of-print singles and covers, Rough Trade soon cottoned onto the independent release and reissued it themselves. Now, ten years in, they've remastered the five killer tunes here, and are reissuing their own reissue of the band's reissued original output. Yep, it's that good, and now it sounds better than ever. - Flying Out
Ireland’s favourite Avant-punk quartet has re-issued The Early Years EP, a collection of out of print 7” singles and covers originally released on Any Other City Records and The Quarter Inch Collective and then on Rough Trade in 2015. The Cha Cha Cha has now been remastered alongside the rest of the tracks and is ready for the dancefloor once again.
Fan fave (and live setlist staple) featured on the collection is an eight-minute cover of post-dubstep mastermind Blawan’s absurdist banger and demented earworm Why They Hide Their Bodies Under My Garage that, simply put, is unlike anything you’ve ever heard before or since.
Tracklist:
1. Lawman
2. De Bom Bom
3. I Love You
4. Why They Hide Their Bodies Under My Garage
5. The Cha Cha Cha
