Live in Japan captures a quietly remarkable moment in George Harrison’s career: his first full concert tour in nearly two decades, and one that very nearly didn’t happen at all. After the bruising 1974 North American run, the Beatle had sworn off major touring, it was only the persistent encouragement of Eric Clapton that drew him back to the stage for these 1991 dates. Backed by Clapton and his seasoned band, the performance favours warmth over spectacle and is issued as a double album for you to take home. - Flying Out
Live in Japan is a double live album by George Harrison, originally released in July 1992.
Captured during Harrison’s 1991 tour of Japan—the first time he had performed a full set of concerts since the 1970s - the album showcases a mix of solo material and iconic Beatles songs, all performed with the backing of Clapton and his seasoned band.
It marked Harrison’s second official live release, following the landmark Concert for Bangladesh two decades earlier.
