1976 was an incredible year for George Benson. Already a jazz veteran since the early '60s, the stars just seem to line up perfectly with his masterwork number one pop, soul, and jazz chart album Breezin.
Produced by Tommy LiPuma and orchestrated by Claus Ogerman, George Benson and a handful of soulful musicians single-handedly created the very first platinum album in jazz music.
The 1976 release Breezin' began a commercially successful era for guitarist George Benson. It topped the Pop, Jazz & R&B album charts in Billboard and produced two hit singles, "Breezin'" and "This Masquerade".
