Cult London trio bar italia spent their formative moments under the fostering wing of underground icon Dean Blunt, and are emerging from somewhat wilful obscurity with Tracey Denim, their Matador debut. Bar Italia, the hotly tipped London trio of Nina Cristante, Jezmi Tarik Fehmi and Sam Fenton, return on Matador Records with the new album Tracey Denim which was recorded and produced by the band with mixing from Marta Salogni. It features the acclaimed single "Nurse!" which was hailed as "a hypnotic post-punk ballad" by The Guardian and "narcotically arresting" by Pitchfork. Over the last two years, Bar Italia have released two albums, an EP and several singles on Dean Blunt's World Music label.
