High Horse (Vinyl LP, Black)

Vinyl LP (Black)

One minute you'll be marvelling at Adam Hattaway's Jagger swagger, and the next you'll be weeping into your whiskey at his bar-room balladry, but you'll never catch him performing the same trick twice. On brand new album High Horse, Ōtautahi cowboy Hattaway teams up with his old pal, here his producer - Marlon Williams, alongside engineer Mark "Merk" Perkins, for a slick and stripped-back affair. The tunes we've heard so far, including Erny Belle-featuring title track, indicate this may well be Hattaway's finest moment. - Flying Out

The new LP is significantly more stripped down than Hattaway’s earlier, noisier rock and roll ventures, with friend and collaborator Marlon Williams aiming for a sound that was “frustratingly quiet” and led by acoustic guitar. Adam explains, “I didn't know it was just going to be the four of us most of the time, so it was very hands-on.” The small group play nearly all the instruments, sharing backing vocal duties, with very little electric guitar this explores a new sound for Hattaway and Jones.
