Mirror II
Mirror II is the third album by Brisbane trio The Goon Sax. It was recorded in Bristol, UK by John Parish (Aldous Harding, Perfume Genius, PJ Harvey). It shows the band restlessly rebuilding their intimate, vulnerable pop music into something bolder and more daring. Elements of darkness that shot through their much loved teenage albums Up To Anything (2016) and We're Not Talking (2018) have deepened and grown starker. The searing lyrical honesty is still there, but now their songs address the metaphysical rather than the mundane. Mirror II is the first truly adult album for three incredibly talented songwriters. It will be released in Australia/New Zealand by Chapter Music, and by Matador Records for the rest of the world.
