Power To The People (CD)

Power To The People - On August 30, 1972, John Lennon & Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band with Elephant’s Memory and Special Guests headlined two historic One To One Concerts at Madison Square Garden, New York City.

These charitable benefit shows played to a combined audience of 40,000 people and helped to raise over $1.5 million (2025 equivalent = $11.5 million) to support children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They were John Lennon’s only full-length concerts after leaving The Beatles and the last two full-length concerts that John & Yoko performed together. Excerpts from the concerts were featured as part of One To One - the critically acclaimed documentary about John & Yoko, directed by Kevin Macdonald and Executive Produced by Sean Ono Lennon.

Power To The People – the films of the two concerts, directed by Simon Hilton and edited by Ben Wainwright-Pierce – are due for release next year. Produced by Sean Ono Lennon leading his 5 x GRAMMY® Award-winning team, both concerts have been completely remixed and re-engineered from scratch by Paul Hicks and Sam Gannon, using brand new HD multitrack transfers by Rob Stevens, with the mixes mastered by Alex Wharton at Abbey Road Studios.
