Phillip Smart was one of the great engineers to learn his trade as an understudy to the legendary dub master himself Osbourne ‚King Tubby Ruddock. Phillip Smart would then step in at the controls when high demand for King Tubby studio dubs grew. Phillip Smart then moved to the U.S in the late 70s and produced some sizeable Jamaican dancehall hits for his two record labels TanYah and Eclipse. But for this album, the focus is on the 1970-76 period when Phillip Smart was behind the controls mixing up the finest dubs with Jamaicas own, The Aggrovators.
