Big news for Nico fans, whose options have until recently been limited to reissues of her debut solo album Chelsea Girl, as Domino has announced vinyl and CD reissues of her second solo album The Marble Index, and third solo album Desertshore. Both long out of print, with fans having to track down elusive second-hand copies, these two albums have been given the remastering treatment from the original master tapes. Co-produced by Velvet Underground bandmate John Cale, these Nico albums have been considered highly influential in what would become the Gothic musical sound, thanks in no small part to her inimitable and haunting voice. - Flying Out
Remastered from original tapes. 1970's Desertshore, co-produced by her Velvet Underground band mate John Cale, like much of Nico's early work, has grown in stature with the passing of time, and alongside Chelsea Girl as some of her most accessible work.
