If you've never heard Jamaican saxophonist "Deadly" Headley Bennett, you've never listened to reggae. Bennett's signature sound can be detected on quite literally countless numbers of legendary recordings, including those by Peter Tosh, Bob Marley, and Delroy Wilson, and he was a member of Studio One's house band Sound Dimension. Deadly's only true solo album 35 Years From Alpha was released by On-U Sound in 1982, produced by Adrian Sherwood, with backing from Roots Radics, and featuring Bim Sherman on vocals. Long overdue, a reissue arrives next month on the label that started it all! - Flying Out
