Put Your Foot Inside The Door

CD

The first of the five albums recorded on Graeme’s portable 16 track studio “Put Your Foot Inside the Door” is the start of the new digital era Cakekitchen home recording catalogue. Released in 2005 it contains songs started on 8 track and 4 track analogue machines that have then been transferred to 16 track to be completed.

Put together and mastered with the help of Michael Heilrath the album utilises the leap in technology achieved with “How Can You Be So Blind?” but doesn’t loose touch with the 4 and 8 track way of doing things. Contains field recordings in the arrangements of the songs (such as bird noises and trains going past) and sometimes goes into freaky Mongolian Throat singing and weird electric dulcimer noises when you don’t really expect it to.

Self released on the bands own label this album took seven years to complete and was distributed by Hausmusik in Europe and through Communion in America. CD version has lyrics and 12 page colour booklet.
