A project by Julien Dyne, a producer and drummer based in New Zealand known for his distinctive works. Performed by a live ensemble featuring rhythm section, horns, percussion, and keyboards, this release is a brilliant homage to the crossover sounds of the 1970s—especially those of Blue Note, which the group deeply admires. Side A is 'Mizu' a direct response to Moacir Santos, while “Flora and Fauna,” a modal jazz waltz exclusive to this EP, evokes the natural life of New Zealand. Both tracks are brimming with graceful charm, marking them as 21st-century jazz classics.
