Fusing reggae basslines with funk instrumentation and generous touches of psychedelic rock, British funk outfit Cymande released their defining album Second Time Around in 1973. Capitalising on a Stateside tour with Al Green after their eponymous debut had become the first UK soul album to chart in America, this superb, slick musical compound extended that success, featuring the excellent single ‘Fug’.
