This new anthology from the always on-the-money Numero brings together fifteen tunes from the unsung queer country songwriter Charles K Brown, best known for his band Sleepy Creek’s tune from which this collection takes its name. This 15-song LP gathers Brown’s solo and band work from 1976-’82, and Jon Freeman’s accompanying essay dissects the origin story of this private press pioneer.
