Long before their art-funk breakthroughs, David Byrne's cult American outfit Talking Heads played together in a college group called The Artistics. In the spring of 1974, the group convened in Chris Frantz’s Benefit Street apartment to record homemade demos on cassette, these sessions captured the group stripped of studio polish and included early versions of ‘Warning Sign’ and ‘Psycho Killer’. Now that session is coming to vinyl, along with a baker’s dozen of 1975-1976 demos, and a live recording. The trove of Talking Heads archival material doesn’t appear to be letting up any time soon. - Flying Out
