For those already in the know, Soccer Mommy's new album announcement will have you swooning all over the place. If you're new here, you're in for a treat, with Sophie "Soccer Mommy" Allison's fourth album Evergreen being a lush and lovely place to begin your fandom. Recorded with Ben H. Allen III, whose previous credits include classics from Deerhunter, Animal Collective, and Washed Out, the album finds Allison straddling the old and the new all at once. Featuring fan favourite single Lost, and brand new tune M, we're expecting to fall in love all over again on Evergreen. - Flying Out
One of the most revered indie songwriters of her era, Sophie Allison aka Soccer Mommy returns with her fourth album. Evergreen sees Allison link up producer Ben H. Allen III, who's previously worked with a number of neo-psychedelia's biggest acts including Deerhunter, Animal Collective, and Youth Lagoon. The singles 'Lost' and 'M' are hinting at a return to the bedroom indie folk of her earlier releases, however, they'll be plenty of surprises to come for the entire LP in terms of instrumentation and production, with tracks which will lead on nicely from the adventurous predecessor Sometimes, Forever.
