Safe to say it's been a pretty wild year for MJ Lenderman, whose recent visit showed us just why his star has risen so wildly of late. Wednesday's 2024 visit, and their incredible album Rat Saw God, also knocked us sideways. Now, indie label Julia's War have announced a reissue of the pair's "origin story" EP, the brilliant lo-fi gem Guttering. Yusssss. - Flying Out
In 2021, Douglas Dulgarian of the band Tagabow launched his label project, Julia’s War Recordings, with its very first cassette release. The debut was a collaborative EP by friends Jake and Karly, released under their pseudonyms MJ Lenderman and Wednesday.
Fast forward to 2025, MJ Lenderman and Wednesday are two of the biggest names in indie rock. Wednesday had a breakout year in 2023 with the release of their excellent Dead Oceans debut, Rat Saw God, which landed on numerous year-end lists. In 2024, MJ Lenderman released his Anti debut, Manning Fireworks, catapulting him into indie stardom. A string of sold-out tour dates and an equally impressive list of year-end accolades followed the album’s release.
