Keep Me on Your Mind / See You Free (Vinyl 2LP, Pink & Blue)
Another superb one from this folk super-trio – who seem adept at crafting beautiful and at times vulnerable songs that attempt to answer some of life’s big questions. - Matthew
Bonny Light Horseman, the exquisite super-trio made up of Anaïs Mitchell, Eric D. Johnson (Fruit Bats), and Josh Kaufman (The National, Hiss Golden Messenger) are back with their glorious third album. For the uninitiated, Bonny Light Horseman entered the fray with a near-damn-perfect self-titled debut album, and what was once a fun idea is now a fully fledged band. Expanding to include a drummer and bass player for their new recordings, the band convened in a genuine Irish pub, and just began to play. What transpired was too gorgeous to contain on one single disc, with this sprawling double album earning itself not one but two titles, even. Keep Me On Your Mind / See You Free is set to arrive this June, and we simply cannot wait. - Flying Out
Bonny Light Horseman’s new album, Keep Me on Your Mind/See You Free, is an ode to the blessed mess of our humanity. Confident and generous, it is an unvarnished offering that puts every feeling and supposed flaw out in the open. The themes are stacked high and staked even higher: love and loss, hope and sorrow, community and family, change and time all permeate Bonny Light Horseman’s most vulnerable and bounteous offering to date. Yet for all of its humanistic touchpoints, Keep Me on Your Mind/See You Free was forged from a kind of unexplainable magic.
