Phonetics On and On (Vinyl LP, Black)

The perfect sad girl indie which manages to encompass pure whimsy while also evoking the feelings of yearning and being appropriately introspective for the genre. Despite hailing from Chicago, this also feels very much like a local band you'd have seen at Wine Cellar in 2015 which I mean as the highest of compliments. Fans of Kimya Dawson/The Moldy Peaches and early Courtney Barnett will feel right at home with this whimsical melancholia. -  Lucia
