Vinyl LP repressing of this absolute jazz classic. A Blue Note essential, this album is part of the Blue Note 75 anniversary vinyl reissue campaign featuring 100 titles. The State of the Tenor, Vol. 1 was a live album by tenor saxophonist Joe Henderson. It was released in 1986 alongside a second volume taped at the same time. The State Of The Tenor features Henderson in a trio with Ron Carter on bass and Al Foster on drums. It was recorded live at the Village Vanguard. Six tracks including 'Beatrice', 'Friday The Thirteenth', 'Happy Reunion', 'Loose Change', 'Ask Me Now' and 'Isotope'.
