After kicking about the Tāmaki scene for 10 years, West Auckland emo‑punks Melanie return with their second, and final album, It Starts From the Inside. Recorded at Roundhead Studios with original drummer De Stevens, ISFTI has all the pop‑punk urgency and midwest‑emo tenderness we love with the added shine from US mixing heavyweight Brett Romnes (Mom Jeans, Hot Mulligan, The Front Bottoms). It's the culmination of countless gigs, their DIY ethos and the tight-knit community that birthed them, all wrapped up into one final farewell letter. - Flying Out
West Auckland Emo Punks Melanie return with their 2nd and final album. It Starts From The Inside was written over several years and marks a departure from their long-term DIY efforts that produced their previous releases. The album was recorded at Roundhead Studios in December 2023, with old friend and original drummer De Stevens. Mixing was handled by US legend Brett Romnes (Mom Jeans, Hot Mulligan, The Front Bottoms). Sonically, the album aligns more with 2020's fun and bouncy album debut, 42 Losers, than the 2022 fast and rough ABCD EP. This band and album were made possible by the incredible community that attended the numerous gigs and bought the merch and records.
