Ed Montgomery had gone from San Francisco to New York City and found musicians to make this jazz-inspired, political statement in 1981. Music and the players’ backgrounds vary from free jazz to funk to Latin to afro-beat, even beyond. The sung/spoken lyrics are taken from outspoken strongly worded writings of the time. Political jazz with no compromise.
