The Tender EP
The "Tender" EP was written and created over Spring 2022 and Summer 2023 at Parachute Music. The lyrics were written using guitar loops, before the songs were developed with instrumental help from Manuela Ovalle Herrera and Josh Johnston.
This EP is more simple in it’s production than previous releases. The songs reflect Em's lived experiences in the moment, and as such they were finished and released while they still felt fresh. The songs for "Tender" were written as the first phase of a bigger project.
The production reflects the quiet busyness of summer, the melodrama of change, the sincerity of self care, and the muted sadness of the functioning heartbroken person.
The Cloud City EP
Written over Autumn and Winter of 2023, the creation of "Cloud City" was a fast and rewarding process. Co-written with Manuela Johnston and Mackensie Clayton, this project was born out of friendship and a shared passion for music.
Each song holds strong memory, fizzy energy of a restless winter, and little time capsules to pull the listener to a place or a phase in life.
"Cloud City" was written as the middle phase of a bigger project. The EP introduces new sonic textures with overt loops, piano, and more focused vocal sounds.
