Bruce Russell: 'Circuits of Omission': Sonaten fur synthetisierten klang (Opus 60)
A solo analog synthesiser record - filthy bleeps, drunken amputee beats, and gritty tones from a busy night in Hell's veterinary hospital.
“So you think you like synthesisers, do you, punk?” All sonatas were recorded using either or both a Dirtbox Modulator and a Wave Generator, hand made by Clinton Williams (Omit). In addition, on some pieces, various other outboard effects and instruments were used. All sounds were acoustically recorded in my office studio, on an Android Nokia phone. Mono digital audio files were subsequently linear edited and volume-adjusted using Audacity. Mastered by Lasse Marhaug (Norway's finest) for maximum impact. Graphic design by Richard Francis.
All pieces performed, engineered and recorded by Bruce Russell, March 2021, Lyttelton, NZ.
