Our introduction to FKA twigs comes in and immediately demands attention with it’s fierce production that dwells deep in the sound of the “alternative r&b” underground lane that was slowly but steadily being established by other massive contemporaries like The Weeknd and Tinashe.
Twigs’ approach to the scene is much more soft upon landing. Her voice isn’t as loud or fierce like The Weeknd’s or as charmingly raspy as young Tinashe, but it is still quite the main attraction, in all it’s soft-spokeness, and really brings these spacious, glitchy, “trip-hop” influenced beats to the whole next level.
With only four tracks and whole pocket full of ambitions, twigs establishes herself as a unforgettable force that will be a pillar for the genre pool she spends her time in.
