Want a limited-edition fluorescent piece of New Zealand music history in the form of a hand-screenprinted Ronnie van Hout approved art poster that can live on your wall and will make your friends jealous and is totally unique and numbered and will totes be worth a fortune one day but you’d never sell it cos it totally reminds you of that one time you saw the band at the Gladstone and nearly stole a poster but didn’t…?

The Christchurch Art Gallery are excited to be working with artist Ronnie van Hout to produce 200 super special hand-screenprinted posters based on an absolute classic – Ronnie’s Flying Saucer cover for the Pin Group’s classic Go To Town EP

Printed in fluro inks on white 175gsm Colorplan paper, there will be four colourways. And like the classic Flying Nun record covers they’re riffing off, no two will be identical. There will be 50 of each colour available - and we'll be in touch closer to the time of release to confirm which colour you'd like based on availability.

The printing is being done in Christchurch by local artists Tjalling de Vries and Scott Jackson, and every copy will be numbered and stamped ‘Ronnie Approved’. There will only be 200 of these produced - we have TEN of them - and we’re expecting them to sell out fast. Get in now and make sure you don’t miss out.

These posters are being created mark the fortieth anniversary of the founding of Flying Nun Records in Ōtautahi Christchurch, and accompany the exhibition Hellzapoppin’!The Art of Flying Nun. The exhibition brings together original artwork and design, film, record covers, posters and photography from some of New Zealand’s favourite bands. From rare collectible records and vintage posters to original artworks and paste-up designs, we're exploring the art and artists behind the music.

This item is part of a fundraising pre-sale and is currently in 'production'. It will be mailed to you by August 2021.
