Backstage

Vinyl LP

Vocal trio The Mighty Diamonds was one of the most internationally popular reggae groups to emerge from the '70s roots era. In the 1980s, after Virgin Records turned away from reggae, The Diamonds turned to perceptive producer Gussie Clarke, who issued popular albums such as 'Changes' and 'The Root Is There'.

The album 'Backstage' was originally recorded at Dynamic Sounds studio in Kingston and issued in extended-play style. Each of the album's six conscious late-roots tracks were mixed to include dubs.
