Joe Newman, frontman of beloved alt-rockers alt-j, steps into an exciting new era with his solo project JJerome87 this June! Channeling a more bluesy, soulful vibe - yet maintaining the distinct indie flavour fans know and love - his debut solo record The Canyon features a talented cast of session instrumentalists and backing vocalists, captured via the skillful production of Carlos De La Garza.
JJerome87 is the solo moniker of British songwriter, musician and frontman of the critically acclaimed Mercury Prize and Ivor Novello-winning band, alt-J. Recorded in LA alongside producer Carlos De La Garza, a dedicated group of session musicians and a trio of female vocalists, his debut album The Canyon is a collection of alt-J (esque) songs with a Californian, Motown, Blues and Gospel energy.
