Karangahape Road offers a steady stream of culture every night of the week, and come Friday 2 September, be ready to dive headfirst into The Others Way Festival - a unique, locally-run day of Auckland's best alternative music, performed across multiple venues. Thanks to Flying Out and 95bFM, The Others Way boats a formidable roster of local artists (and a couple of Aussies), transforming K'Rd into the music destination dreams are made of.
Today, we’re announcing two more acts, because why stop when you’ve a good thing going? Lets just let things get out of control! Auckland’s unclassifiable doom merchants Girls Pissing on Girls Pissing will bring their signature scuz-swing to The Others Way, as will Wellington’s brooding weavers of pagan metal magic, HEX.
ROOM OF DOOM AT NECK OF THE WOODS
These two new addition bands will perform in one of The Others Way’s curated spaces, the Room of Doom at Neck of the Woods, alongside King Loser and Shocking Pinks. If powerhaus evil surf-wave is your motorik fix, then the Room of Doom is for you. Also bringing the noise will be DJ Nah Nah Nah Kiss Him Goodbye - voyager in experimental sound. Shamans, Soothsayers - let us invoke these dastardly brutalist jams!

FREAK-FUNK FALE AT SAMOA HOUSE
Up the road you’ll find the Freak-Funk Fale for all your progressive, groovy, beaty George Clinton, Funkadelic, Ennio Morricone needs, with rhythm masters Yoko-Zuna, the many-limbed organism that is Carnivorous Plant Society, and the creamy cosmic ambience of Peach Milk. Joining them will be DJs from the mighty Rebel Soul Records (their shop is right next door and will be open for The Others Way) as well as a set by the Loop Recordings DJ crew. Get ready to get loose.

Last year The Others Way sold out a week before the festival and this year tickets are moving even faster - so don’t wait. Tickets are available now from www.flyingout.co.nz, www.undertheradar.co.nz and the Flying Out Shop (80 Pitt St, Newton).
Stay tuned for more information and announcements as September is just a stone’s throw away.
