If your only foray into art is perving on Elam students, why not try listening to Armed Courage, the latest release from The Dead C.
With a press-release aptly bathed in hyperbole, The Dead C are now being touted as one of the most respected, longest surviving groups in the history of rock. The suitably named Armed Courage (there are two tracks, Armed and Courage) were performed by all three original members, Bruce Russell, Michael Morley, Robbie Yeats and the compositions assemble and pivot, colliding new landscapes while undermining their very foundations.
Armed Courage is the fourth Dead C record in six years released on New York label Ba Da Bing, a Brooklyn based label who have been home to Beirut, tUnE-yArDs and The Brunettes.
You can bet your bottom dollar that New Zealand's Culture and Heritage The Right Hon Christopher Finlayson, hasn't heard of The Dead C, but don't let that put you off, Armed Courage is available from Flying Out on LP and CD formats.
Plus, for different side of the confronting noise producers, look no further than 27 Minutes With Mr Noisey, a documentary on the band's guitarist Bruce Russell, lovingly crafted by his daughter Olive.
