At the 2013 New Zealand Laneway, I cried. Watching Bailterspace under the yellow glow of a sunset. I was half way to being emotional, then my SPF50 sunblock introduced itself to my sclera. Rubbing furiously, the weeping became worse. I was a sopping, red eyed mess. Turns out much of the country experience the same emotive feelings earlier this week when Laneway 2014 was announced.
The full line up is as follows:
CHVRCHES, Danny Brown, Daughter, Doprah, Earl Sweatshirt, Frightened Rabbit, Ghost Wave, Haim, Jagwar Ma, James Blake, Jamie XX, Kurt Vile, Lorde, Mount Kimbie, Parquet Courts, PCP Eagles, Rackets, Run The Jewels, Savages, The Jezabels, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Vance Joy, Watercolours, XXYYXX, Youth Lagoon.
With a industrial/tropical location at Wynward Quarters Silo Park, Laneway is the perfect festival for finding out your new favorite band. Hell, even Auckland's Mayor Len Brown has discovered Danny Brown… Danny Who? Are you sure Lorde has an e on the end? Is Savages a 'PC' term? Who are half of these bands?
Well, we have a bunch of their releases available in store including Daughter, Ghost Wave, Kurt Vile, Savages and Unknown Mortal Orchestra if you want to find out more.
See you in the pit…
