The Band Rotunda at Auckland Zoo will be the scenic venue for a very special concert featuring national treasure Bic Runga, and the equally well respected Hollie Fullbrook with her band Tiny Ruins.
After successfully touring together in 2015, the pair have decided to reunite again for this one off show on Saturday 20th February at Auckland Zoo’s Band Rotunda.
Bic Runga is a New Zealand music icon with three number one albums, a swag of hit singles and a Silver Scroll song writing award. Earlier this year she released the new single ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ from her forthcoming fifth album.
Tiny Ruins have been working head and touring internationally since releasing Some Were Meant For Sea in 2011. Last year’s Brightly Painted One won Best Alternative Album at last year’s NZ Music Awards and the band’s been on tour around the world supporting artists like Sharon Van Etten, Calexico and The Handsome Family.
Songwriters Runga & Fullbrook will take to the rotunda with their respective bands: Kody Nielson will accompany Runga and Fullbrook will be joined by Tiny Ruins’ band mates Alex Freer, Cass Basil and Tom Healy.
This show will give audiences a rare opportunity to see them showcase new material and re-imagine cherished favourites in a solo capacity, with their bands, and together for a special finale.
Praise for their 2015 tour:
