FINALISTS FOR THE TAITE MUSIC PRIZE ANNOUNCED

The top 10 finalists for the 2015 Taite Music Prize have been announced. This year’s ten finalists, from a lengthy list of 65 nominations submitted by record labels both independent and major from across the country, are:

Grayson Gilmour – ‘Infinite Life!’ (Flying Nun Records)
Jakob – ‘Sines’ (Shoot The Freak)
Kimbra – ‘The Golden Echo’ (Warner Brother Records)
Tiny Ruins – ‘Brightly Painted One’ (Arch Hill Recordings/Spunk Records)
Mulholland – ‘Stop & Start Again’ (Mulholland)
Tami Neilson – ‘Dynamite’ (Neilson Records)

Flying Out would like to congratulate all the artists, but especially those we work with - Tiny Ruins, Grayson GilmourAldous Harding and Jakob! Their Taite-nominated albums are all available for purchase through the Flying Out store.

Named after one of New Zealand's most highly-respected music journalists, Dylan Taite, the prize is in its sixth year running this year and recognises outstanding creativity for an entire collection of music contained on one album.

The overall award winner will be announced on Wednesday the 15th of April at Galatos Live in Auckland’s central city. The winner will receive $10,000, recording time at Red Bull Studios and a years supply of Red Bull products.
