All the way from Vancouver, Canada - The Courtneys - have announced a series of shows in New Zealand this March.
Drifting back to the sound of the early ’90s while reflecting a fun-in-the-sun West Coast mentality, the 3-piece band will deliver their special blend of fuzzy slacker pop with four shows in Auckland and Wellington from March 6-9. Full tour details below.
Influenced by the likes of Eddy Current Suppression Ring and New Zealand's own Flying Nun bands, their 2013 self-titled eight track album is alive with fuzzed-up, clever pop and is available on LP and CD here.
The Courtneys’ have a special air that makes you want to be apart of their world and despite being named after the “mean girls” at bassist Koke's elementary school — “they were all called Courtney or Colleen, and had parties that I was never invited to” — their vibe is more a cool gang than too-cool clique.
