AUDIOCULTURE: A HISTORY OF ARCH HILL PLUS PLAYLIST

Ben Howe Arch Hill

Gareth Shute at Audioculture has written a very nice history of Arch Hill Records, from the label's origin as a studio on Great North rd through to more recent days as part of label group Flying Out.

Auckland based Arch Hill Recordings was originally created by musician Ben Howe and sound engineer Ed Case to release music that had been recorded in Case’s Arch Hill Studio. It wasn't long before they found new acts that excited them and signed up releases from local legends David Kilgour and Don McGlashan, who were both looking for a new home. A decade-and-a-half later, Arch Hill is one of the most well known independent labels in the country and Howe has become a key figure in pushing New Zealand music to the world. READ THE WHOLE STORY HERE

Audioculture is an excellent New Zealand music website described as "the noisy library of New Zealand music.

To go with the story we have created An Introduction to Arch Hill Spotify playlist and Youtube playlist as well.

Don't forget to subscribe to Arch Hill on Spotify and Youtube channels as well.
