THE OTHER'S WAY #006 - THURSDAY SEPT 4

Matthew Davis The Other's Way

The Other's Way #006Mark it down in your diary, The Other's Way #006 is bringing six of the best and new talents from around New Zealand to perform at The Wine Cellar and Whammy Bar (K Rd, Auckland) this Thursday (September 4th).

Plus, this month, to coincide with the Going Global Music Summit, we have a special edition with double the bands, playing across both The Wine Cellar and Whammy throughout the night.

Featuring performances from Avoid! Avoid, Stef Animal, Lightning Tape Wolf, Catlin Blake, Cool Runnings + Muirs, Flying Out's monthly music night is koha entry, starts nice and early at 8pm, with performance times strictly adhered too.

Plus we promise some cheap drinks and free pizza!

Additional thank to Coopers NZ and Going Global for their continued support.

The Other's Way #006 revelry is proudly brought to you by:

AVOID! AVOID - 8PM
Only a few shows in and Avoid! Avoid are already turning heads with their motorik rhythms, swirling guitar and understated political message. Comprised of members from The Subliminals, The Hasslehoff Experience & Fang, make sure you catch Avoid! Avoid in an intimate setting ahead of their upcoming shows with Kerretta and Jakob

STEF ANIMAL - 8.45

What should we say about Stef Animal? A quick google search shows the Wellington-based musician is as enigmatic as the music. Some will know Stef as the ethereal vocalist behind The Golden Awesome, and before that bassist of that great fuzz-pop band Mestar. But what of Stef’s solo work, haunting vocals, glorious synths and rolling rhythms, all wrapped up in pop delight? You’ll just have to come to find out.

LIGHTNING TAPE WOLF - 9.15PM
Half Tape, Half Man, Half Werewolf! Lightning Tape Wolf is the living incarnation of man, beast and electromagnetic tape. Born from the same black abyss as his former-self The Mysterious Tape Man, who was also sent to destroy all of mankind. Come and see the apocalypse first hand.

CAITLIN BLACK - 9.45PM

A month on from releasing their debut via A P O L L O K I D S, Hamilton based beatsmith Caitlin Blake will once again grace the stage at The Wine Cellar, performing at 9.45PM. Despite only having played a handful of shows, their recorded output is considered, self assured and thoughtful.

COOL RUNNINGS - 10.15PM

Whether they are straight edge or just plain sexy, the self described SXE LEADERS OF AKL MUSIC SCENE have had a banner year. Having released two EPs already, by the end of the month Cool Runnings will be also touring the US including a performance at Gonerfest. V.nice.

MUIRS - 11PM

Armed with two cans of LYNX and a balaclava, Muirs will transport listeners from Whammy to the Trap Chapel. Muirs will join Career Girls, Kieran Tahir as KCB alum who have performed at previous incarnations of The Other's Way and guarantees to end the night on a high.
