Back for another round, Flying Out's monthly music event, The Other's Way heads back to The Wine Cellar (K Rd, Auckland) this Thursday (July 3rd), with a showcase of the newest in indie, electronic and alternative music from New Zealand.
This month's edition features performances from Parents, CareerGirls and Racing.
Koha entry, it starts nice and early at 8pm with performance times strictly adhered too, plus we promise some cheap drinks and free pizza. The Other's Way #004 merrymaking is proudly brought to you by:
Made up of pivotal members of Auckland's Hardcore Punk community, Parents are a group who routinely spend their weekend putting fellow musicians in their place. Thursday's performance will be a chance to preview some of the bands new material that will be out on a 7" EP in August. Parents will set the evening's bar high with unprecedented pace and fury. http://parentsnz.bandcamp.com
Following from Kieran Tahir's appearance at The Other's Way #001, KCB alum Career Girls will prove that electronic musicians don't just make bleeps & bloops. Not bound by one particular genre or style, CareerGirls' music blends break beats, vocal samples, and piercing synths into a challenging but ultimately rewarding experience. http://careergirls.bandcamp.com/
RACING - 10PM
Last months mystery band (Bespin) were so impressive that we have continued with sourcing enigmas, and this month's show will be rounded off by Racing. The band are so new that they haven't recorded, have no social media or even a photo to their name. While those in the know can bank on their pedigree, if you want to find out who Racing are and what they sound like, make sure you can stay out to 10pm.
